Every fall, we get together with our favorite vendors and industry friends to put together a magnificent showcase of what we do here at Simply Delicious Caterings. It's an amazing time where we get to work with our favorite people in the business all at once, and get to show off the best of our upcoming, newest menus as well as particular favorites.
This event was co-hosted with White Door Events, and the Whites know how to throw a shindig!
We couldn't have pulled this event together without the expertise and tireless commitment to every planning detail from WED Memphis. They are amazing!
This year we the venue helped determine our theme. The Memphis Zoo has long been one of our favorite spots for weddings and other events, but their brand new Zambezi River Camp was designed as a fantastic spot for large events, full of so much gorgeous and unique potential.
We were excited to showcase some of our new items at this tasting, including our Holiday Chicken Roulade over bowtie pasta, our Chestnut and Fennel Cornbread Dressing, our Kale Roasted Beet Salad with Balsamic Vinaigrette and our Spice Roasted Carrots. Additionally our buffet stations included favorites like Lemon Thyme Chicken Skewers, Pesto Chicken and Grape Tomato Sate (a gluten-free choice!), Meatballs, and Butternut Squash Ravioli in Sage Brown Butter.
The Cheeses included Double Gloucester with Stilton, Red Windsor, Sage Derby and Blueberry Wensleydale.
Our Fresh Salad Stations included a colorful crudite with garden fresh green goddess dip and our Signature Simply Salad Box Bar that stunned as well as satisfied.
Our passed plate appetizers are always some of our favorite menu items to put together. What will wow guests with a flavor explosion in just one bite? The kind of appetizer that will have them hunting the catering server down for more? For this event, we choose Wild Mushroom Tartlets wtih Chive Creme Fraiche, Mini Beef Wellingtons with Bordelaise Sauce, Butternut Squash Soup Shooters, Smoked Salmon Nova on Cucumber with Dill Cream and Pancetta and Pear Bites with Goat Cheese.
But we didn't stop there! Our Watering Hole welcomed guests with their choice of local Memphis and domestic beers and wine with BBQ nuts and candied bacon.
And no one's sweet tooth was ignored. Our assorted desserts included mini cookies and cupcakes, Oreo Cheesecake Bars, Dark Chocolate Brownie Bars, Peanut Pretzel Bars, Lemon Bars and Cake Pops!
Our guests were even welcomed with a refreshing Peach Bellini (Peach Popsicle in Prosecco) from MEMPops, one of our favorite food cart vendors and a Memphis staple around town!
But no Simply Delicious event is complete without an homage to our other brand, Corky's BBQ. For this event we served our Signature BBQ Boatinis and a giant roast pig lovingly taken care of by our executive Chef Stan.
It was a fabulous night, full of our favorite things: friends, food and Memphis goodness.
Thanks to every single one of our incredible vendors and friends, without whom this night would not have been possible.
