Our Spring Tasting and Design Event celebrated the Pantone Color of 2017, "Greenery," in Simply Delicious style. From drinks and delicacies to design and decor, greenery was the theme of the night, and White Door Events helped us bring the entire thing together.
We decided that the newest venue in Memphis, the FedEx Event Center at Shelby Farms Park was the perfect place to showcase greenery, with its panoramic views of Patriot Lake and the gorgeous views of the park itself and the perfect Memphis sunset.
A great venue deserves gorgeous design. Thanks to Stan and Beth White of White Door Events and their team, the open and well-apportioned space was transformed into a elegant celebration of spring's arrival. Custom hedges, supple linens, and plush velvet statement furniture pieces stood out in the natural setting and clean lines of the FedEx Event Center.
Of course no celebration of the Pantone color of the year, Greenery, could possibly be complete without the gorgeous and unmatched floral decor from Michael Doyle and team at Lynn Doyle Flowers and Events. From floating votive centerpieces to elaborate floral masterpieces, Lynn Doyle brought the outdoors, indoors.
Of course a great event in a great venue with great decor deserves an even better menu, and our team came through with delicious passed plates, precise small plate stations and more.
We served Corky's Sliders: chipotle chicken, caprese or cheeseburger and Corky's BBQ Nacho boats.
One of the biggest hits of the night were our Smore's Stations: traditional, key lime and salty caramel bacon.
Our Simply Delicious Specialty Drink of the night was a Kiwi Caipirinha, served in our unique moving drinks table.
Our favorite passed plates of the evening included Trio Cold Soup Shooters, Avocado Toast, Fern Valley Honey Crostini with walnuts, brie and green apples, Green Machine Juice with Kombucha by City and Silo, Toated Ravioli, Jerk Chicken with black beans and fried plantains, and Cucumber Rolls.
Our show stoppers of the night included our Simply Classic Pork Plate with grilled pork loin served with grilled peaches with a broccoli slaw and quinoa, our Tuna Poke Bowls and the debut of our new Corky's Hickory Smoked Drummies - introduced by the Drums Unlimited Renegades of Rhythm! We march to the beat of a brand new drummie!!!
Desserts were provided by The Painted Cookie and MemPOPs, and Java Coast provided a delicious cappucino bar.
We also debuted, along with other title sponsors Creation Studios, Lynn Doyle Flowers and Events, Deep Blu Entertainment and White Door Events, the newest technology in wedding venues: Memphis Wedding Venues 3D, a virtual tour of the venues you want to use - for free!
